REFLECTIONS As a graphic design and psychology student with a passion for research and equitable experiences for all, this process of merging two of my passions led me to discovering a new career path. Throughout this process, I was forced to hone in on creating clear, intentional designs that contain purpose within every interaction.

Learning about usability heuristics paired with my background in psychology and research helped me to make design decisions that would reduce the cognitive load when designing for individuals with IDDs. Reducing memory burden and use of pop-up messages
allow for direct pathways from page to page streamlining the user experience.

And, while I only conducted secondary research observing general consensuses surrounding inclusive design for individuals with IDDs, in the future, I would love to conduct primary research for this specific design solution to gain tangible insights into how individuals respond to both the web and mobile adapted design and conduct further research with each iteration of the design.
